all but the top three photos are from our last day in wonderful Portland. the first picture is of the house we planned on staying in for half of our trip, but decided against, so it ended up just being a place to freshen up after we got off the plane and ran in the rain for an hour trying the find it.
the second photo is a tired but believe it or not, very happy me in front of the Kinfolk magazine offices/studio. i was given the opportunity to get a tour of the place 15 minutes before closing time, for which i am very thankful to the lovely Asia for! she was wonderful and introduced me to those in the office at the time, (though most were out shooting) including the editor Nathan Williams. it was a quick little visit but i definitely won't forget it! it was worth the seemingly never ending sweaty, jam-packed bus ride through not the best part of town.
i will hopefully be returning in the near future for an internship.
later on we decided to take the aerial tram up to get a bird's eye view of the city. it was a beautiful evening and a beautiful view.
the rest of the pictures were taken on our last day. we packed up and headed off to our next hotel, Ace. which by the way, i could totally live there. at that point we really didn't want to leave. most of the day was spent in the Pearl District, having a lunch of unbelievable grilled cheeses at a food truck, shopping around, running into the wonderful Michelle Hodkin again while browsing in Tender Loving Empire, and then taking the streetcar to Salt & Straw for some much needed ice cream to cool off. the rest of the evening was pretty laid back. we had dinner at Clyde Common, adjacent to the hotel, and then went across the street to grab books at Powell's for the very early plane ride home.
one week was definitely not enough for me. i'm ready to move on out to Portland aaaany time now.
