one of my favorite things about hood river was that when we arrived at our hotel that afternoon, we couldn't even see the mountains because it was so cloudy and foggy and gray. we went to sleep with our view looking like this:
and woke early the next morning to THIS:
it was pretty spectacular. everything was so bright blue and colorful and surprisingly more peaceful than it was when it was dark and gray. not to mention it was probably the freshest, perfectly cool air my lungs have ever had the privilege of breathing. (i say that in a joking way and not as a cheesy serious one) it smelled like spring and fall and fresh water all at the same time. i guess that's oregon weather for you.
