today, my mother, maddie, her friend faith, and i all went out to visit the apple fest that was going on in historic weston, missouri. there was a lot of apple cider and apple dumplings, (yum and yum.) and other apple-oriented treats, as well as lots of country folk. who were all quite amusing.
afterwards, we went up to the weston bend state park to take some pictures from the lookout, and walk through their lewis + clark walking trails. it was a gorgeous, crisp, breezy, 40 - 50 degree autumn day, and walking through the colorful woods was rather magical. it was nice to get out and get some fresh air for once. i expect to go back soon because it was so lovely and peaceful out there.
